《生命科学》重点发表生命科学范围内的评述性或综述性文章，同时报道相关领域的研究动态、研究成果等。每年的第12期全文刊载国家自然科学基金委员会生命科学部当年资助项目，并且刊登与此有关的研究进展、管理经验和问题咨询等，对科技工作者选题、申报基金项目有较强的指导意义和实用价值。2014年为了提高我刊的学术水平，提高刊载文章的学术质量，我们将加强对国内外生命科学和生物技术领域前沿和热点的介绍，更好的为读者服务。2014年计划出版的专刊和专题分别为：老年痴呆、RNA研究的新技术与新方法、能源植物、生物多样性和生物钟。

Chinese Bulletin of Life Sciences mainly publishes reviews and comments in life sciences, research advances and developments in related areas were also included. Every year's projects funded by the Life Science Department of NSFC were published in the last issue each year, and the management experiences and consultation were also published here. It is of directional and practical value to scientists and researchers. In order to improve the academical level and quality of our journal, we pay additional emphasis on the frontier and hot spots in life sciences and biotechnology to serve the readers better. The special issues and topics of 2014 are focused on Alzhheimer's disease, biodiversity, energy plants, and biochronometer.
