肾纤维化是各种慢性肾病进展的最终归途，是国际肾脏病领域的关键科学问题。本团队以刘友华教授为学术带头人，凝聚了一支以中科院院士、千人计划学者和国家杰青为骨干的杰出人才队伍。近五年团队以器官衰竭防治国家重点实验室为依托，通过多学科横向交叉的转化医学研究模式，对肾纤维化发病机制和防治策略进行了系统研究，主要创新成果包括： 1）发现了介导肾纤维化的关键信号途径；2）揭示了促进肾纤维化进展的关键致病因素；3）建立了肾纤维化的风险预测新方法；4）研发了干预肾纤维化的新药先导化合物；5）创建了延缓肾纤维化进展的临床新策略。近5年在JASN、Science、Cell等国际著名期刊发表论文110篇（41篇由团队骨干共同署名），平均每篇IF7.66，累计IF 843，被他引1500次。国际学术界给予研究成果高度评价。团队将在原有基础上，进一步研究肾纤维化的分子调控，寻找新干预靶点，推进研究成果向临床应用转化。

Renal fibrosis is the final common outcome of a wide variety of progressive chronic kidney diseases, regardless of the initial etiology and pathology. It is also a long-standing scientific topic that attracts great attention in renal community worldwide. This innovative research group, based at the State Key Laboratory of Organ Failure Research and led by Professor Youhua Liu, proposes to investigate the pathogenesis of renal fibrosis and develop novel strategies for therapeutic intervention by using integrating, multi- disciplinary approaches. Over the last 5 years, our group has made a series of substantial contributions in this field by uncovering key fibrosis-related signaling pathways, identifying and characterizing risk factors and biomarkers, and developing novel strategies for treatment. These results have been published in 110 papers in the prestigious journals, with accumulating impact factor of 843 and mean impact factor of 7.66 per paper. The studies have been widely and frequently cited by more than 1500 times. Further studies as proposed in this application will offer significant insights into understanding the cellular and molecular mechanism of renal fibrosis, and provide the basis for designing rational and effective therapeutic strategies for fibrotic kidney diseases.
