本团队在宁光院士的组织和协调下,围绕糖尿病相关科学问题,由五个课题组形成的研究群体,以瑞金医院丰富的2型糖尿病临床资源为支撑,整合基因组学、流行病学和临床研究策略,采用基因敲除小鼠等模式生物,结合现代分子生物学和细胞生物学研究手段,对2型糖尿病双重缺陷的机制和干预靶点进行深入的研究。团体将继续秉持转化型医学的理念,结合基因组学和流行病学研究平台,进一步揭示胰岛beta细胞功能缺陷和下丘脑肝脏脂肪肠道等靶器官胰岛素抵抗的机制,阐明2型糖尿病发生发展的神经-免疫-内分泌调控网络,为发现新的干预靶点和探索新的诊疗方法奠定基础。
英文摘要
This Creative Research Group, led by Prof. Ning, consists of five research groups, aiming to investigate the mechanisms of type 2 diabetes and develop new intervention strategies. The team will be firmly supported by the diabetic resources in Ruijin Hospital, which integrate of genomics, epidemiology and clinical practice. They will extensively use animal model, including knockout mice, zebrafish, fruit bats, in combination with molecular biology and cell biology research. It is expected to conduct a novel and creative way to reveal the mechanism and intervention targets of the dual defects of type 2 diabetes. The team members have published 193 peer-reviewed articles, including Science, JAMA Nat Cell Biol, Nat Genet, Diabetes and other high-impact international journals. With the support of this project and previous study basis, the team will continue to carry on translational medicine research to further reveal mechanisms underlying the development of type 2 diabetes, especially in the dysfunction of islet beta cells and insulin resistance caused by imbalance of hypothalamus-liver-fat-gut regulatory network. The work will identify a few novel targets, even some concepts, which would be of importance for further clinical intervention of type 2 diabetes.
