在本研究室多年研究工作基础上，与国内硅藻分类学者合作，本项目拟全面搜集整理我国硅藻种类的历史资料，基于国际上现有分类方法，对我国已记录的硅藻种类进行修订；对分类位置存在问题的种类，或是借标本原始封片或是在种类分布地进行标本补采，利用光镜和电镜（包括SEM和TEM）对种类进行显微观察（个别种类采用分子系统学方法研究），从而确定种类的种属地位；根据国际上最新的分类知识和研究进展，结合申请者的观点，对我国硅藻分类系统进行重建，将我国淡水硅藻类科属系统进行重新排列，使我国硅藻研究与国际接轨，建立中国淡水硅藻网站，为今后我国淡水硅藻研究奠定基础，也为硅藻在生态环境领域的应用和相关教科书的书写提供依据。

Based on research experiences of our laboratory and the cooperation with the domestic and foreign researchers, this project will look up and collect information of diatom species recorded in China. All these species will be revised along with the international widely accepted classification systems. For the questionable species which placement are uncertain, we will borrow original species slides or collect specimens from the original habitats, observe and obtain detailed morphological data with LM, SEM and TEM, then try to verify specific placement of these species. According to newest taxonomy methods and research progress, as well as the opinions produced by ourselves, we will reconstruct the diatom classification of China, rearrange the families and genera placement of Chinese freshwater diatom, make our diatom research integrated in the international level, and create the website of Chinese freshwater diatom. This project will lay the foundation for further development of freshwater diatom research of China. It will also provide the basis for the application of diatom in the field of ecological environment and the writing of textbooks.
