Peristome is one of important structures for mosses, but related research on this issue is very weak in karst plateau both in China and abroad. By the means of the Electron Microscope, Optical microscope and Plant Tissue Culture. This project will study on diversity of peristome morphology of mosses and their function from karst mountain area in southwest China. Main contents of this project: diversity of peristome morphology of mosses in karst mountain area; variety of peristome structure of mosses in karst mountain area;multiformity of peristome groups of mosses and their adapt features in karst mountain area; diversity of peristome device of mosses in karst mountain area; ecological factor effects for spore discharging of mosses in karst mountain area ;ecological significance of peristome for spore discharge in karst plateau area in southwest China..Karst mountain areas in southwest China are very typical, which occupied a karst distribution of the largest, most concentrated and the most affected areas in the world. This project has important theoretical significance to study the diversity of morphology and structure of mosses and conservation biodiversity in karst mountain areas in southwest China.
