两年一届的国际干细胞研讨会自2008年起，已成功举办了四次。历次论坛邀请到了干细胞领域著名学者作为大会特邀专家或共同担任大会主席，其中Irving Weissman， Hal Broxmeyer，David Scadden，Ian Wilmut和多名国际实验血液学学会历任主席Toshio Suda、Connie Eaves、Elaine Dzierzak、Paul Frenette等。得到国内外与会者积极参与，共同分享了各自研究的最新进展。 .第五届国际干细胞论坛拟由中国医学科学院血液病医院（血液学研究所）程涛教授与美国约翰霍普金斯程临钊教授担任大会共同主席，新加坡国立大学资深研究员、曾任国际实验血液学学会主席Toshio Suda教授与中国科学院院士、中国细胞生物学学会干细胞生物学分会会长、中国科学院动物研究所周琪教授被邀请为重点报告专家，本届会议主题将集中在干细胞基础与转化研究。

Continuing with the success of the previous four IFSCs starting from 2008, this year’s conference will focus more on Translational Research of Stem Cells and Their Quality Assurance. The topics will include basic stem cell research, the development of new drugs and treatments, as well as the discussion on quality control standard for stem cells and the guidelines for their clinical research. The 2016 IFSC is organized by the Institute of Hematology/Hospital for Blood Diseases, Center for Stem Cell Medicine at CAMS and the Key Laboratory of Experimental Hematology of China, and sponsored by Union Stem Cell & Gene Engineering Co.,Ltd.. The conference will offer you an opportunity to exchange your recent advances in stem cell research field with other colleagues and to establish potential international collaborations.

2016年10月28日-29日，第五届国际干细胞论坛（The 5th International Forum on Stem Cells）在天津成功举办。国际干细胞论坛是由国家自然基金委员会医学部主办、中国医学科学院血液病医院（血液学研究所）及实验血液学国家重点实验室承办的高水平国际学术交流品牌，此次第五届论坛的成功召开，彰显了院所乃至中国干细胞领域日益扩大的国际影响力。来自国内外近五百位相关领域专家学者、临床工作者及学生参加了此次论坛。
