骨质疏松、骨关节炎、高血压、心血管疾病、肿瘤等疾病的发生均与机体的代谢机制紊乱密切相关，且各种疾病间存在一定的因果关系。在中国科协与兵团科协直接支持下，经过新疆生产建设兵团外事局的批准，依托肥胖对骨代谢的影响极其作用机制研究，邀请在骨代谢领域具有深厚造诣的国际著名教授团队，同时聚集国内、外代谢性疾病相关领域知名专家、学者来我院，共同举办“第四届西部生物医学国际论坛”，围绕“骨与干细胞、肿瘤、心血管和代谢性疾病”领域新理论、诊疗新技术进行交流，指导实验关键环节，讨论未来发展的热点、难点等问题。这将为课题的顺利实施提供理论及技术支持，同时也可开阔西部地区科研人员的学术视野，提高学术水平，促进科研成果的转化和开发利用，对提高本地区居民的健康水平，维护新疆的长治久安具有重要的现实意义和久远的历史意义；同时，为今后研究工作者间的合作及我区人才的培养等奠定基础。

The occurrence and development of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Disease, Cancer and other diseases are closely associate with the metabolism disorder of human body, and there are certain causalities between. With the direct support of China Association of Science & Technology and Association of Science & Technology of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the approval of Bureau of Foreign Affairs of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in view of the Study of the Mechanism on Effects of Obesity on Bone Metabolism, Shihezi University School of Medicine will host the Forth International Biomedical Forum of West China (IBFWC). This forum has already invited the internationally renowned experts team with the deep attainments in the field of bone metabolism, and has also gathered well-known experts relating to the field of metabolic diseases from home and abroad. Around the theme of "Bone, Stem Cells, Cancer, Cardiovascular and Metabolic diseases", experts and scholars will communicate new technology, theory and diagnosis and they will also guide the key links of experiments, discuss the hot and difficult problems for the future development. In brief, there hard works and academic exchanges during the forum and so on will provide theoretical and technical support to the smooth implementation of this subject, at the same time can open scientific researchers’ academic horizon in western region of China, and improve their academic level as well as the transformation, development and utilization of their scientific research. In the long run, the research of this subject and the held of this forum will improve the health level of residents here, will play a very important role in maintaining the stability of Xinjiang, at the same time, will contribute to the future cooperation between scientific researchers and cultivation of talents in Xinjiang.
