我国兽医科学发展正处于跨越的关键时期，制定兽医学的学科发展战略，明确优先资助领域，是国家自然科学基金等科研计划的迫切需求。本项目拟通过国内外调研，了解国家重大需求相关的重要科学问题，把握国际兽医科学发展的前沿，提出未来5-10年我国兽医学科学研究的战略目标、整体思路和优先资助领域，为我国兽医学学科的科研立项提供重要依据。

Veterinary science in China is in a critical period of the great-leap-forward development. As far as the national basic research program is concerned, it is urgent to put forward the development strategy of veterinary science, and to formulate the priority funding areas in the discipline of veterinary medicine. Through the domestic and foreign investigation on the development status of veterinary science, this project intends to understand the national demand for veterinary medicine in China, to grasp of the forefront of the discipline development of veterinary medicine, to present the strategic goal of veterinary science research, the general ideas of the development plan, and the priority funding areas in the next 5-10 years in China. The above research results will provide an important basis for the research program of veterinary science in China.

兽医学是一门有关预防、控制、诊断、治疗家养动物及野生动物疾病，防止动物疾病向人类传播的学科，在动物疾病和人兽共患病的防控与治疗、动物源性食品安全的监控、公共卫生和生态环境健康的维护等方面起着主导性作用。我国是世界养殖大国，畜牧业在国民经济中占有重要的地位。但我国畜牧业的生产水平远低于世界平均水平，其主要瓶颈因素是动物疾病、人兽共患病及动物源性食品安全等问题。为了促进畜牧业发展，保障食品安全和人体健康，我国必须加强兽医学的基础研究。本项目开展兽医学学科发展战略和优先资助领域的调研，旨在为我国兽医学科的科研立项提供科学依据。本项目经过国内外广泛调研，分析了兽医学及其基础兽医学、预防兽医学、临床兽医学、等分支学科的研究特点、发展现状、趋势和国际前沿，总结了我国兽医学及其基础兽医学、预防兽医学、临床兽医学等分支学科的的研究现状和近年重要研究进展，提出了未来5～10年我国兽医学学科的发展战略和优先资助领域，制定了我国兽医学学科发展的保障措施。项目撰写并提交了“兽医学发展战略和优先资助领域研究报告”，该报告将为我国兽医学科重大研究计划、重大项目的立项提供主要根据。
