Parasitic nematodes, for their multispecies and wide distribution, had brought serious damage to the development of animal husbandry in China's northern grassland. The use of nematicides has become increasingly restricted duce to anthelmintic resistance, public health and environmental concerns. To get rid of these problems, control by the nematode-trapping fungus has attracted much attentions. On the basis of finished studies before, this program will analyze the transcriptome and proteome of the nematode-trapping fungi- Duddingtonia flagrans, respectively. Then the differences in the metabolism of hyphae with organs and general vegetative hyphae ( without organs ) were also studied. Simultaneously, gene of organs and some nematode-trapping related genes were screened, and followed by verifying their functions preliminarily. So it would provide important information to investigate the mechanisms of the molecular mechanisms of organs formation and the trapping to nematodes. Besides, it would also settle foundation for development of secretions or toxic biologicals of the nematodes and the use of genetic engineering transformation to nematode-trapping fungi. The program would enrich the knowledge of the relevant field, and provide a scientific basis for better use of nematode-trapping fungi in the practical production.
