The applicant mainly interests in studying the molecular mechanism of cardiovascular diseases, including cardiac hypertrophy, cardiomyocyte apoptosis and cardiomyocyte necrosis. Our work for the first time demonstrated that lncRNAs participated in regulating cardiac hypertrophy and apoptosis by sponging miRNA. And we identified the function of many non-coding RNAs in regulating mitochondrial fission and in cardiac diseases. Also, we unveiled several de novo signal pathways that regulated the pathological or physiological processes in cardiomyocytes. Research results have been published in Circulation Research, Nature communications, Nature Medicine, Gene & Development, PNAS, et al. In all, the applicant has 20 publications in recent years which have been cited for 494 times. Also, the applicant has published two scientific articles as a corresponding author and has obtained 6 Chinese patents for inventions. On the basis of previous discoveries, the proposed project plans to further study the function of non-coding RNA in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and necrosis and explores the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases. This project not only can add incremental knowledge for cardiac molecular and cellular mechanisms but also may provide effective therapy for myocardial infarction and heart failure.
