The applicant focused on the development of biological drug targeted delivery strategy. Macromolecular drugs suffer from poor specificity and low drug delivery efficiency, which greatly restrict their further application. To achieve the targeting delivery of the macromolecular drugs, novel drug targets and specific targeting ligands were filtered, newly targeted drug delivery system was built in the applicant’s previous work. Since he joined UMKC in 2007, he has received four federal grants, American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant, and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) New Investigator Grant (in a total amount of $3,079,103). He has published 44 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. With this in mind, the applicant designed to use the phase display technology to find novel targeting peptide, utilize the conjugated polymer technology platform of the partner to synthesis novel multifunctional materials, and build multifunctional gene and drug co-delivery delivery system to achieve the targeting therapy and treatment effect of the prostate cancer.
