Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common behavioral disorder in childhood. The was found that about 70% of the children's symptoms continued to adolescence, 30% continued to adulthood, and ADHD is closely related to smoking, alcohol abuse, antisocial behavior, and even illegal crimes, which seriously affect children's physical and mental health and learning..The etiology and pathogenesis of ADHD are complex, which involves many theories, and each theory has its molecular basis, so it may be helpful to explain the cause and mechanism of ADHD from the microscopic level. Since many limitations of the human body as the research object to carry on the research on the ADHD mental or the behavior symptom, such as ethics does not allow the application to collect brain tissue sample, thus it is difficult to realize the ADHD molecular mechanism. With the establishment of ADHD animal model, it overcomes the limitations of human body as the object, which makes it possible to use the animal models, combined with behavioral science, a variety of molecular biology techniques to clarify the cause and pathogenesis of ADHD..This presentation includes four departments, "the advantages of the animal models ", “the animal models of ADHD”, "the behavior tests of the animal model of ADHD", " research on pathogenesis of ADHD by using of modern molecular biology techniques combined with animal models " to confirm the role of animal models in the pathogenesis of ADHD.
