The between heavy ions and nuclear emulsions at intermediate and low end of high energies have been analyzed and investigated in experiments by collaborating with foreign experts. We have obtained the interacting cross sections of projectiles and targets, projectile fragmentation modes, charge and angular distributions of projectile fragments, secondary interacting cross sections of projectile fragments and targets, multiplicity and angular distributions of target fragments, multiplicity and angular (pseudorapidity) distributions of shower particles, as well as the relationships with the projectile type and mass, beam energy, and target mass. The distribution laws of some interesting measurements have been analyzed in the experiments and/or in the framework of related models. 22 research papers related to emulsion experiments have been published in Physical Review C, Chinese Physics Letters, and other journals. In the modeling and theoretical investigations, we have developed the multisource ideal gas model and explained the distribution laws of multiplicities, (pseudo)rapidities, transverse momentums, and isotopic production cross sections. The thermodynamic and hydrodynamic properties of strongly coupled matter near phase transition have been analyzed in the framework of the lattice QCD. Meanwhile, nuclear stopping in high energy heavy ion collisions has been studied by using the UrQMD model. 19 research papers related to modeling and theoretical investigations have been published in Physical Review C, Physical Review D, Nuclear Physics A, EPL, Chinese Physics Letters, and other journals.
